Pet Friendly Home by Kouichi Kimura

I love the work of Kouichi Kimura; it’s minimalistic, fresh and sophisticated, and as a dog owner I was so pleased to find out about this pet-friendly home design by the talented Japanese architect. I wish more of today’s architects would design more houses with pets and their owners in mind.

Creating an elegant yet an efficient home for both man and dog is not an easy task. However, living with pets and a beautiful home should not contradict and I think Kimura did a great job in combining the two.

Take a look at how the designer utilized the area underneath the house for the family’s dogs. A low opening provides comfortable access for the dogs, where outside awaits them a patch of grass accessorized with proper lighting and an outdoor shower for those hot summer days or winter’s muddy paws.
